On 9/5/20 we were asked to serve as a food distribution center for the USDA's Farmers to Families Fresh Food Box program for the government's response to the COVID-19 national emergency. We are located in main south of Worcester known for having one of the largest areas for non-English or limited English-speaking residents in the city. We immediately started in Sept 2020 on a weekly basis. We continued this program until it was discontinued in May 2021 which at that time, we had given out 58 tons of food. Because we always had a steady stream of people showing up for food and COVID 19 was still in full affect, we decided to continue distributing food to those in need and partnered with the Worcester County Food Bank which has also given us an option of allowing people the dignity of picking out their own food to get what they need instead of being handed a box of food. We are currently feeding about 940 people a week or 3,760 per month.
